Its the future and mass unemployment is a harsh reality sweeping across Europe. These dire times have people begging to become a contestant on the hot new TV show "The Prize of Peril", where winning promises instant riches and losing means a brutal death.

A recently laid off factory worker gets selected by the shows board of directors and they slate him to run the gauntlet live on TV. He must survive running a designated route from the middle of the city back to the television studio while being filmed and followed by a camera crew. Five hunters are chosen out of thousands of applicants to chase and terminate the runner. Can he win the "Prize of Peril"?

This is a great independent French feature that was eventually remade by Hollywood as The Running Man. Even though The Running Man was based on a Stephen King story, you can judge for yourself when you see how much of The Running Man more than borrows for this entertaining film made years earlier.
