Corleone (1978)

A downtrodden farmer turns to crime and quickly rises to prominence in the Sicilian mafia.  Along the way, he learns the importance of political connections and of having legitimate businesses to funnel his dirty money into.

Determined to do away with the old more violent ways of doing things, he eventually lays the groundwork for his own doom.

Pasquale Squitieri directs this crime drama that is heavily inspired by the Francis Ford Coppola classic.  Genre vet Giuliano Gemma lends his talents as the lead and Ennio Morricone provides the killer score.
